As we walked and rode our bikes in the streets and stairs of Hampi, we realized, we could spend months, and still be left with a lot of temples to step in, the next day. There are more than 200 distinguished monuments and those are the true attractions of Hampi!
You try to frame the next, while standing right beneath your current architecture.. literally!
The Iconic Stone Chraiot:
The stunning Stone Chariot of Hampi is glorious and beautiful… and well, always filled with tourists and visitors.
Vittala Temple and this Chariot got it’s inspiration from Konark temple of Odissa.
Well, if you are thinking, where did I see this before? It might be, on the Rs. 50 Indian currency!
Water bodies of Hampi:
Pushkarani means ponds, which can be natural or artificially created. The Pushkarani near Kings Place was made for royal usage.
The Pushkarani for public, near the marketplace is also state of the art, with an artistic pavilion in the center.
